Christian Garrick is an award-winning British jazz violinist, composer and band leader.  He has recorded several solo albums including Different Strokes, critically acclaimed in the Sunday Times as 1998 Jazz Album of the Year.  In 1993 he became the first ever non-classical violin graduate of London's Royal Academy of Music, also gaining the conservatoire’s top accolade, the DipRAM.  He has played with numerous artistes such as Wynton Marsalis, Nigel Kennedy, Bireli Lagrene, Dolly Parton, All About Eve, Duffy, Van Morrison, Dame Cleo Laine and Sir John Dankworth. Christian leads the mythical Budapest Café Orchestra of Harringay.  In the world of film and television he is a busy studio session musician and has added his violin to a wealth of movie soundtracks including Hustle, Tolkien, Les Miserables, The Hobbit, The Imaginarium of Dr Parnasus, Chocolat, Brideshead Revisited, La Vie En Rose, Chicago, Borat, An Ideal Husband, Tomorrow Never Dies and The Book Of Life.  He is a professor of jazz violin studies at the Royal Academy of Music, Royal College of Music and Guildhall School in London.

David Gordon on piano has been described as a richly gifted player with a sparkling style and boundless imagination. David is as much at home on a harpsichord as he is a piano and has played in some of the best concert halls in the world as part of two well known baroque orchestras.

Alec Dankworth is an award-winning jazz bassist and composer who, in addition to leading several groups of his own, has worked with an amazing list of artists including Van Morrison, Stephanne Grappelli, Abdullah Ibrahim, and The Dave Brubeck Quartet. He is known for his energetic stage presence, versatility of style and some of the most imaginative bass solos around.

Completing tonight’s group is Tom Hooper. Tom has been playing drums since he was 6 years old and has been playing professionally since he was 14 travelling all over the world performing and recording with many well known artists.
