This year our sister organisation, the Wooburn Singers, are performing a collection of works on a theme of remembrance.  The concert will feature a new composition by Colin Riley and cellist Gabrielle Swallow.

The new composition by Colin Riley - Roads shining like river up hill after rain is a setting of poems by Edward Thomas (picture). Other works include John Taverner’s Svyati, Karl Jenkins’ Benedictus and John Rutter’s Requiem

The Wooburn Singers were founded more than 50 years ago by the late Richard Hickox. The group performs 4-6 concerts a year in the area with concert tours every other year. The group of auditioned singers perform a variety of musical genres.  Some concerts are a capella and others are accompanied by baroque orchestras, harps, and on occasion a jazz trio.
