Love local history? Fascinated by intriguing tales? Did you know there is a haunted tree in Little Marlow? Have you visited the Hell Fire Club at West Wycombe? Ever driven past Highwayman’s Farm or wondered what happened in Cut Throat Wood??? Come and join us on Thursday 5 October for an amusing evening of local stories and yarns when Mary steps out of Marlow and comes to Bourne End as part of the Wooburn Festival.
We are delighted to welcome Marlow’s very own ‘Mary Shelley’ and long suffering acolyte, Jitters, to this year’s Festival. Mary has been entertaining the good people of Marlow since 2021, prompted by the bicentenary of the publication of ‘Frankenstein’ by Mary Shelley in 2018 when, as arguably the town’s most significant former resident, it was decided it was high time that Mary was appropriately celebrated.
Mary and Jitters bring to us an evening of jovial banter, witty rhyme, humorous song and plenty of buffoonery! They are thrilled and delighted to be entertaining patrons of the Wooburn Festival with tales from Marlow and further afield in the local area.
