Wooburn Singers is an auditioned chamber choir of about 50 singers in South Buckinghamshire. They were founded in 1967 by the late Richard Hickox to help raise funds for the Wooburn Parish Church. They sang at the inaugural concert of the Wooburn Festival.
Rehearsing in Beaconsfield, they perform four or five concerts per year in the area, ranging from a capella works to large choral pieces with orchestra. The choir goes on tour in Europe every other summer.
Directed by Jonathon Cole-Swinard, the Wooburn Singers will be performing their Autumn Remembrance Concert at All Saints church by the river in Marlow.
The concert this year will be Abide With Me – Music for Remembrance and Reflection
Kerensa Briggs: Requiem
John Taverner: Song for Athene
John Ireland: Greater Love Hath no Man
W.H. Monk: Abide with Me
Tickets are £18 each and are free for students.
